stremio-qt5 (4.4.181+dfsg-2) unstable; urgency=low
* Rename source and binary package from stremio to stremio-qt5. The
Salsa repo was already renamed to mendezr/stremio-qt5 when the
"stremio" name was reused for the WebKitGTK6 rewrite (ITP #943703),
but this package's own debian/control was never updated to match --
debian.vejeta.com was still serving this Qt5 build as "stremio"
4.4.181+dfsg-1, which (having a numerically higher first component)
shadowed the new stremio 1.2.0+ds-1 in apt's version ordering,
confirmed while testing the new package on 2026-09-17. Also renames
the installed binary/desktop/icon files (stremio -> stremio-qt5) to
avoid a real dpkg file conflict with the new stremio package, not
just the package-name collision.
* debian/control: point Suggests at stremio-server-installer, not the
abandoned stremio-server (proprietary blob) package.
* Namespace the package's own files so they no longer sit in paths that
belong to Debian's stremio package: /usr/bin/stremio-wrapper ->
/usr/bin/stremio-qt5-wrapper (man page renamed to match) and
/usr/libexec/stremio/stremio -> /usr/libexec/stremio-qt5/stremio. Debian's
package owns /usr/libexec/stremio/ (it ships stremio-bin there), so while
there was no dpkg file conflict today, there would have been one the
moment either side renamed a binary. /usr/share/stremio/ is deliberately
left shared: that is where stremio-server-installer puts server.js and
where this package's patched QML reads it from, so all clients share one
download.
* Install every icon under a stremio-qt5 name instead of upstream's
smartcode-stremio_*.png, and drop the icon symlinks: the app icons become
real files at hicolor/<size>/apps/stremio-qt5.png and the tray icons move
to /usr/share/stremio-qt5/icons/stremio-qt5-tray_*.png. This removes the
last files shared with anything called "stremio", so no Breaks/Replaces on
that name is needed. The earlier attempt did add
Breaks/Replaces: stremio (<< 4.4.181+dfsg-2) to fix a real dpkg conflict on
those icons, but that relation also matches Debian's own stremio 1.2.0+ds-1
(1.2.0 sorts below 4.4.181), so installing this package would have
uninstalled Debian's, and the two could never coexist. A versioned relation
cannot exclude the 1.x range, hence not sharing files at all is the fix.
Safe for the renderer's icon lookups: the window icon comes from the
embedded Qt resource (main.cpp: setWindowIcon(QIcon(":/images/...")))
and the tray falls back to the same embedded icon, since the tray PNGs
lived in /usr/share/stremio/icons/, which is not an icon theme directory
and was never resolvable via QIcon::fromTheme. Verified by rebuilding and
re-running the upgrade in a throwaway unstable chroot against the .deb
published on debian.vejeta.com: apt full-upgrade still exits 0 with no
"trying to overwrite", and the file lists now overlap with neither the old
stremio 4.4.181+dfsg-1 nor Debian's 1.2.0+ds-1.
* debian/control: add an empty transitional "stremio" package depending
on stremio-qt5, so that users of debian.vejeta.com who installed the
old "stremio" 4.4.181+dfsg-1 migrate to the renamed package on their
next apt upgrade instead of being left with an orphaned install. This
revision (-2) already sorts above the published -1, so no synthetic
version is needed. The transitional package is meant to be dropped
from the repository in a second, separately announced step: while the
repository still serves the "stremio" name, apt cannot offer Debian's
own stremio 1.2.0+ds-1 (4.4.181 sorts higher).

stremio (4.4.181+dfsg-1) unstable; urgency=low
* Initial Debian packaging (Closes: #943703)
* debian/rules: Relax the strict Qt 5.15 ABI pins on Ubuntu derivatives.
dh_shlibdeps injects exact qtdeclarative-abi-5-15-N and qtwebengine-abi-
5-15-N dependencies matching the build host's Qt 5.15 micro-version. Ubuntu
derivatives such as KDE neon rebuild Qt 5.15.x with a different micro-
version, making those virtual packages unsatisfiable even though the 5.15.x
ABI is compatible. Add an override_dh_shlibdeps that strips the pins from
the substvars only when dpkg-vendor reports Ubuntu; libqt5qml5 (>= 5.1.0)
and libqt5webengine5 already cover the real dependencies. Debian builds
keep the strict pins unchanged.
